Jumbo kills woman

 Vanajakshi of Yadakeri village was returning home after work, along with four other women, at the farm of Shantegowda at 2 pm when the rogue elephant chased her, lifted her with its trunk and threw her to the ground, before stamping her to death with its leg.
Villagers held a protest at the spot, along with Vanajakshi’s body. The people alleged that the government was not taking any action even after several complaints about more than 25 elephants camping in the area and destroying property from time to time.
