Speaking at a programme to distribute bicycles for students at the school here on Friday, Bachegowda said money was available for the purpose from legislator’s fund and MP’s Local Area Development fund.
‘Ready to release funds’
“Myself and Lok Sabha member M Veerappa Moily are prepared to release Rs five lakh each for construction of the compound. But the SDMC has not submitted any estimate so far,” he said.
Gowda added that he had earmarked Rs 50,000 for purchase of furniture for the school. The committee, however, had not come forward to utilise the money by submitting proposal.
He said educational institutions should make use of the funds available from the government. Any laxity would deprive them of infrastructure in turn putting the students in trouble, the legislator noted.
Taluk panchayat vice president Venkatanarayanappa, councillor Srinath, freedom fighter Narayanappa, SDMC president Krishnamurthy and others were present on the occasion.
