PGET counselling for 41 seats today

Counselling for filling up 41 vacant seats in postgraduate medical courses of the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) will be conducted by the Consortium of Medical, Engineering, and Dental Colleges of Karnataka (Comed-K) at its office here on Wednesday. The seats could not be filled by any member institute of Comed-K on May 31, the last day of previous counselling, as the Medical Council of India (MCI) had fixed June 1 as the last date for admission. However, the Karnataka Private Medical and Dental Colleges Association (KPM&DCA) filed a writ petition before the Supreme Court, challenging the MCI order. On Tuesday, the apex court allowed the Comed-K to conduct counselling for the unfilled seats. The Comed-K has fixed June 29 as the last date for counselling as a report on the seats filled has to be submitted to the Supreme Court on June 30. The schedule is as follows: Candidates who qualified in the entrance test conducted by Comed-K in February 2011, and had not taken seats earlier can attend the counselling, in the order of merit, in the first session: 11.30 am to 1.30 pm. If seats are unfilled after the first session, students who qualified in the entrance test conducted by RGUHS can attend the counselling, in the second session: 2.30-4 pm. If seats are unfilled after the second session, students who qualified in the entrance test conducted by other States can attend the counselling, in the third session: 4.45-6 pm. The venue will be Comed-K office, No 132, 2nd Floor, 17th Cross, 11th Main, Malleswaram. Students should bring original documents, demand drafts (DDs) for the prescribed tuition fee, the original rank card issued by the examination authorities concerned, and the identity cards.
