The accident took place late Tuesday when the speeding Scorpio skidded off the road and fell into the Shival canal in Bauria town, some 300 km from Lucknow.
"Eyewitnesses say six-seven people were present inside the car. Four bodies were fished out today (Wednesday)," said police inspector T.B. Singh.
The victims were returning to their native place in Ballia after attending a marriage party in Gopalnagar town of the district.
