BU launches B.Sc in Animation

Venturing into the arena of the animation, Bangalore University has introduced three years B.Sc Animation Course  through distance education mode for the 2009-10 academic year. The course will comprise of six semesters spread over three years with five theory papers and two practical.

The B Sc course will cover extensively a broad range of content and technical skill building in the areas of Graphic Art Culture and Technology with respect to animation, video and film production. Other aspects  include advancements in technology, digital storytelling, construction of stories through sound and image, history of art and design,  aesthetics of art and colour, basics of drawing, basics of  design for animation, gaming history, game design and theory, basics of 2D animation, Cel-animation, advance 2D Animation techniques and basics of flash animation.

At the end of each semester, an examination of three hours in each of theory and practical paper will be conducted. Admissions to be made by counselling based on the entrance test conducted by the Department of Electronic Media, Bangalore University.

Eligibility for Admission: Any student who has passed plus two or equivalent in science, arts and commerce or diploma in engineering of three years duration, securing 35 per cent of marks.
