However, after getting elected as the MP, he visited Kalasa only twice to take part in the party programme. It looks like he has forgotten all the promises made to the people of Kalasa hobli.

Now after elected as the Chief Minister, the people of Kalasa hobli have high expectations from him.

If Samse in Kalasa is connected to Belthangady through Elaneeru, then the people of Malnad can reach coastal district at a shorter distance. The travel distance of 50 km will be reduced. The people of the region have been demanding for the road for the last two decades. As the proposed road passes through reserve forest, the forest department has put an objection to the road. The people in the hobli will be contented  if DV takes an initiative and solves the row with the forest department and lays road.

The people of the region have been demanding taluk status to Kalasa. At present, the people of Kalasa have to travel to Mudigere which is 58 km from Kalasa. The taluk reorganisation committee had recommended the constitution of Kalasa taluk. Will the new CM announce taluk status to Kalasa? is a million dollar question.

The committee had recommeded to the government to release Rs 25 crore to undertake developmental work in Naxal infested areas under Naxal areas development package.

The CM must take measure to release the funds. The hobli is also suffering from Inam land, deemed forest and Kuduremukh tiger projects. The farmers feel that the projects will be against their interest. Though there is scope for the promotion of tourism in the disrict, the road to Balehole-Basarikatte, Kalasa-Kottigehara, Kalasa-Horanadu, Mahaveera road, Horanadu-Srinigeri are in deplorable condition which must be taken up on priority basis. There is a need for the setting up of government diploma college in Kalasa for the technical education of the rural students. The local BJP leaders are planning to meet Chief Minister next week with a list of demands from the region.
