People's Problem

Potholed road at Shanthinagar bus stand. Road without streetlights

The one-km stretch of the road starting from Opus under the Windsor Manor bridge up to 5th Cross, Kumara Park does not have many streetlights. The existing streetlights are very dim and it is unsafe for any woman to walk on this stretch. Some women employees who get dropped off at the Palace Guttahalli bus stop especially after 9 pm need to walk the entire  stretch to reach home.

It is extremely dangerous, insecure and inevitable for any woman to take this route. Even the parallel road is again lit with very dim light and there is no alternative route to reach home. Will the authorities concerned address this problem?

 Taxpayers’ money wasted

For the past one year the BBMP has been removing heavy stone slabs laid on the rain water drain in Balaji Layout, Vajarahalli, Kanakapura road (Hemmigepura Ward 198). These stone slabs would have lasted a life-time, but the Palike engineers are replacing them with poor quality concrete slabs, thereby wasting public money. We have learnt that this is being done to help ruling party workers.

The recently inaugurated park is has no drinking water and light facilities. The entire Balaji Layout is fitted with streetlights that do not function resulting in increase in criminal activities. Will the Corporator attend the problems?

 Stray dog menace

The stray dog menace is unbearable in and around Hanumanthanagar, particularly in First Cross 3rd Main.  We cannot walk without fear of being attacked especially early in the morning.

The road from "Halli Tindi" onwards is so uneven that one cannot drive even a four-wheeler leave alone a two wheeler. Will the corporator concerned make some efforts to address the issue?

 Provide BMTC service

There are numerous apartments, educational institutions and commercial establishments etc, in BTM 2nd Stage.

The total population is more than 8,000. But there are no BMTC bus service  from our Layout and we have to depend on autos or walk two kilometers to reach main road to catch a bus.

The elderly and the children are finding it very difficult to commute. Our pleas to BMTC have fallen on deaf ears.

We request the BMTC to immediately run a bus, at least a mini bus from our Layout, which will not only help our Layout residents but also those in the adjoining layouts.
The authorities concerned should take up the issue on a priority basis.

No Cauvery water

Grievance: We the residents of Lal Bahadur Shastrinagar near old Airport Road have been facing problems relating to  poor drainage system and water supply. Each household is using pit systems or making use of storm water drain which they fail to clear out and the overflowing pits are causing stench and proving to be a health hazard. Five years ago the roads were dug up to lay Cauvery water pipes, but people are yet to receive water. As a result they are compelled to sink borewells or opt for tanker water supply.
Residents,
Lal Bahadur Shastrinagar.

Response: The engineer concerned has said that the underground work is in progress and it will take some time to finish laying of all the pipelines.  Cauvery water will be supplied only after commissioning Cauvery IV stage II phase 2012.
Shashidhar, AE – East-5 Damage to pipe

Grievance: The movement of lorries and tippers have caused damage to the underground water pipe leading to my house in 6th cross, CIL Layout, Cholanayakana Halli, R T Nagar.
BWSSB has since disconnected water supply to my house.  The BWSSB inspector instructed the works contractor to complete the job at his own cost as damage has taken place due to movement of his vehicles.  The contractor visited the site and is willing to complete the job. But he local workers from BWSSB are not cooperating with him to complete the job, as he is demanding money from me personally for doing the job.

Nirmala Mahajan,
Cholanayakanahalli,
R T Nagar Post

Response: The engineer concerned has informed that the problem of disconnection of water pipeline has been rectified long back and has also said no one has taken money from the consumer and the work was done free of cost.
