Officials of Regional Institute of Medical Science and Hospital in Imphal informed us after getting an anonymous call about the grenade being placed there late last night, they said.
The grenade was found in the outpatient department of the hospital wrapped in a paper bearing the name of an extremist organisation 'Kangleipak Communist Party'.
The grenade was later defused by experts.
