The tree fell into a neighbouring house on Friday due to heavy rains. Residents of the area have complained to the forest department about this incident and have urged authorities concerned to take steps to protect valuable trees in the locality.
Teacher commits suicide
Thandavapura Mahesh (35), who was a teacher in Kalihundi, committed suicide by jumping into Kabini river from a bridge at Hommaragalli in H D Kote taluk on Friday.
Dowry death
Kavya (25), wife of Devaraj of Singamaranahalli in Hunsur taluk, committed suicide by consuming poison at Madapura in H D Kote taluk on Friday. She was married only three months ago and was allegedly harassed for dowry. Devaraj has been arrested.
