Jagan accuses Cong, CBI of witch-hunt, praises BJP

Jagan, the son of late Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, however, made it clear that his YSR Congress Party would never support the BJP "at any level" as they were ideologically different.

The 38-year-old Kadapa MP will be camping in the national capital for the next few days to meet leaders of Opposition parties, including BJP and the Left, and distribute a 7-page note on how the CBI is adopting "a one-sided approach" in Andhra Pradesh.

"In fact, I am here to meet every opposition party leader and the Prime Minister, to tell him about what the CBI is doing and whether it is moving in the right direction or not.... In Andhra Pradesh, the CBI is not moving in the right direction, the direction in which it should be moving."

While Jagan met SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav and told him his side of the story, he has sought appointments with Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj, CPI General Secretary A B Bardhan and CPI(M) leaders.

Premises owned by various companies which have invested in the businesses of the Kadapa MP in five cities were searched recently after the CBI registered a case on the orders of the Andhra Pradesh High Court.

He thanked BJP and Swaraj for coming out in his support.

"I am thankful to the BJP and Sushma Swaraj that despite all the differences that my father and my party have towards BJP all along, still the BJP has come forward. I am thankful to her for having raised the matter of injustice," he said.
