Speaking to mediapersons in the City on Monday, Govindaiah said: “In order to avert crime in 187 villages which falls within our police limits, the department has decided to implement the people-friendly police concept. As an effort in that direction the staff will be trained and workshops will be conducted on effective legal system, prevention of crime and the people-friendly police concept.”
Zero crime is possible only when the people too are alert and cooperate with the police, he said.
People should immediately inform the police when they spot strangers roaming in the locality. Also, they should keep their valuables in bank. Moreover, strangers in the guise of electricians and others should be treated with caution, he added.
