Congress, JD(S) seek action against Virajpet official

Background of the incident was that Jettappa had filed a police complaint against three panchayat members alleging them of giving life threat to him. Following this, members staged protest condemning the incident and demanded Jettappa’s suspension. In the meantime, Bar Association members also had organised protest condemning the incident, since one of the panchayat members in the case was a practising advocate. As a result, court proceedings in the town were also affected. Meanwhile, SI Harishchandra raised objection for organising protest without obtaining prior permission. Later, panchayat members and advocates marched towards DySP office and submitted a memorandum urging the withdrawal of case. Congress leaders C K Prithvinath, K Palaniprakash, M S Poovaiah, senior panchayat member M K Poovaiah, Zilla Panchayat member Karun Kalayya, Town Panchayat members B K Chandru, V K Sathish, S H Matheen, Maria Sequira, P A Tara and Kousar participated.
