Entries for Merk Millipore Award sought

The award, worth a total of Rs six million, will be given to three winners in various denominations.

Scientists from the Government-funded, as well as not-for-profit public research institutes in the field of green chemistry, medicinal chemistry, chemical, and bioanalytics, proteomics, genomics, drug discovery and delivery, biomanufacturing, biomarkers and synthetic biology can apply. According to Merck, the awards aim at recognising the leading researches outside commercial research centres.

The jury for the awards consists seven well-known scientists from India and Germany. The first prize winner will receive Rs three million, the second Rs two million and the third will get Rs one million, respectively.

The deadline for submissions is January 15, 2012. The selection process will begin from January 16 till May 31, 2013, and the winners will be announced at a scientific symposium soon after.
