Glorifying Krishna

The Sangeetotsav is held every year and this year, the emphasis was on vocals and flute. The Sangeeta Seva started from the morning of August 13 with Vidwan Murali and team’s performance. The Sangeeta Seva saw a unique blend of senior and junior artistes.

The main idea behind organising the event is to please Lord Krishna as he loves flute and music.

The songs glorify Krishna and all the songs were Krishna-based. Hindustani classical vocal concerts, Carnatic Shastriya Sangeetha, Panchanadaswara and Nagaswara were some of the highlights of the Sangeetotsav.

Singers like Sairam Iyer, Ganakala Bhushana Vidwan R K Padmanabha and team, artistes like Anandraj Gonwar and team, Laxminagaraj and Indu Nagaraj delighted the people present at the event. Sairam Iyer sang a lullaby for Lord Krishna.The artiste is gifted with a unique talent of singing in dual voice, which is the male and female version. Along with Meera Bhajans, he also rendered Marathi Abangs and Bhakti Geets.

Sairam Iyer said, “I got the great opportunity to be able to perform before Lord
Krishna and I think it’s blessing for me. I had a great time here at ISKCON, I got to witness some amazing talents over a period of two days.”

Anandraj Gonwar rendered Bhimpalas, Raga Kirvani, Khyalgayan, Dasarapada among others.

He said, “I felt very good to sing here and it is a great opportunity for me to perform in front of such a huge crowd as well as my Guru too. This is my second performance here in ISKCON and it really feels great.”

On the occasion, there were Abhisheka ceremonies too. The occasion also saw
programmes by children. Celebrities like Srinagar Kitti was also present. Two months were taken to prepare for this grand event and a lot of effort had gone into its preparation, say authorities of ISKCON.
