Making comedy is tough: Hrishitaa Bhatt

Last Updated 13 November 2011, 06:44 IST

Known for her debut in Shahrukh Khan's 'Asoka', Hrishitaa, who has starrred in films like 'Dil Vil Pyar Vyar' and 'Haasil', has now ventured into production.

The film,  Shakal Pe Mat Jaa', is produced under the banner of IPIX Movies.

"Comedy always works, but it is difficult. Making and doing comedy films is not easy. To make people laugh is the most difficult part. Rather, serious and issue-based films are easier to make, as one has to do research and then accordingly work on the script," Hrishitaa told PTI in an interview.

'Shakal Pe Mat Jaa' is a story of four boys who get caught up as suspects at the airport while taking photographs of an aircraft.

The film stars Shubh Mukherjee, who is also the director-writer, Pratik Katare, Saurabh Shukla, Raghuveer Yadav and Aamna Shariff. It will release on November 18.

When asked why she has no big stars in her debut film, Hrishitaa says, "The story did not require big stars. It is not that by having big stars my debut film as a producer would have got overshadowed... the script is what matters."

"But it is an added advantage if you have a known face in your film," she added.
