'Expedite processing of complaints'

In her inaugural remarks at a video-conference with Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) of all zilla panchayats, Karandlaje stressed the need for streamlining the complaint redressal system at the grassroot level. “Villagers should not be made to run from pillar to post. Every effort should be made to address the complaints,” she said.

The minister directed the CEOs to ensure drinking water schemes are given priority in their jurisdiction.

The State government had released Rs 12 crore for drilling new borewells.
The Centre has released an additional Rs 810 crore to the State following its good performance in implementing the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), which is aimed at providing connectivity to remote rural habitations as part of a poverty reduction strategy, Karandlaje said.
