Mamatha, wife of Siddalinga Prabhu, who was murdered recently, consumed sleeping tablets at her house protesting against the failure of the State government to arrest those behind her husband’s killing.

Hours after she consumed sleeping tablets at her house at Sompur, she was rushed to a private hospital at Kengeri New Town. She is battling for life at ICU.

In a note, she stated that NICE chief Ashok Kheny and his assistant Rudresh were responsible for her husband’s death. The police have not arrested both of them even a month after the murder. Chief Minister Sadananda Gowda and IGP (Central Range) Malini Krishnamurthy promised  to get the suspects arrested within a week when a padayatra was taken out a week ago, but nothing has happened, she stated in the note.

“I can’t see the suffering of my children and my mother-in-law. I feel everyday that my husband comes and sits next to me. My children ask me when will their father return. The murderers have continued to torture us. Let the God punish those who murdered my husband,” the note said.

Former prime minister H D Deve Gowda, who visited Mamatha in the hospital, said he will sit in hunger strike for a day in front of Mahatma Gandhi statue to protest against the NICE scams and murder of Siddalinga Prabhu on November 22.
