People's Problems

Water supply erratic

We, residents of door numbers 44, 45 , 46 in 6th Main Road, Kengeri Satellite Town, are not supplied water regularly.  For the last one week, we were not supplied any water at all. We have mentioned this in the complaint book at the BWSSB office here and we have informed them orally too. But till date, no action has been taken. I request the higher authorities of the BWSSB to direct their subordinates to ensure regular water at least twice a week.

Scarce water supply

Water supply to the residents of 2nd Main, 3rd Block, HRBR Layout, continues to remain scarce in spite of bringing it to the notice of BWSSB officials.

The BWSSB authorities had responded by writing that the matter will be looked into and concrete steps would be taken to restore normal supply but nothing has happened. We continue to depend on private tankers. I once again request the authorities to take steps to help the residents.

Slow pace of drainage work

The work on upgradation of drainage system in JP Nagar 1st phase is going on at snail’s pace. The roads are dug up everywhere and the debris is spread haphazardly on the roads.

Even though the councillor is monitoring the work, the progress is very slow. It seems like the contractors are taking him for a ride. I request the councillor to put some extra effort into selecting a proper contractor and get the job completed at the earliest.

Do not shift bus shelter

After repeated requests for almost 18 years, the BMTC has provided bus service to 7th Main, BTM Layout 2nd Stage.

A bus shelter has been constructed by corporator G N R Babu. It is centrally located and convenient to all the residents of the locality.

However, there have been objections from a few residents with vested interests who want the shelter shifted.

The relocation of this bus shelter will cause a lot of inconvenience to the numerous students and senior citizens.

Hence, we request the BMTC to ensure that the bus shelter is not shifted to any other place.

Dark stretches need lights

The 1st Main Road of Sundaranagar (JP Park ward) is badly lit, specially in front of the BBMP Park.

The dark stretches have become resting place for drunkards and anti-social elements. It is extremely scary for women and children to use this road.  We therefore urge the Bescom officials to install sodium lamps in front of the park and put an end to this nuisance.

Repair road

The road leading from Old Mico to Adugodi, especially in front of the Government School and traffic signal, was dug up five months ago on the pretext of road widening.

There has been no progress with the work so far and this has affected traffic on this narrow stretch.

Children, who attend the school, also find it difficult to cross the road.

Will the authorities concerned repair the road, even if they cannot widen it on time?

No garbage collection in Vidyaranyapura

It was good to see Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike officials collecting property tax from defaulters using innovative methods like drum beating.

But even after paying property tax and solid waste cess in April, this year, we do not have garbage collectors coming to our house in Vidyaranypura.

There are no sweepers too. Either we need to throw the garbage ourselves or pay extra money to a local garbage collector, even though we have paid the Palike for this.
Can the officer concerned look into this urgently?

Repair road to prevent accidents

The busy road connecting Jayanagar and Banashankari 2nd stage was dug by the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewage Board a month ago to lay new sewage pipes.

The condition of the road remains the same even after completion of the work. Everyday there are accidents on the stretch, especially involving two-wheelers. The condition becomes even worse when it rains.

However, neither the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike nor the BWSSB has taken any action to restore the road.

We hope the authorities will do the needful to prevent further accidents.

Bad state of road

We recently shifted to III main, Chamundeshwari Layout, Vidyaranyapuram. It was very disappointing to see the bad condition of the road here, which becomes worse during rains.
Vehicle tyres become very frequently deflated due to stones and ditches everywhere.

Before shifting, we contacted the CMC authorities, who promised to asphalt the road very shortly. But, there has been no progress so far.

I hereby request the authorities concerned to get the road tarred immediately.

Footpath needed

The junction near Pottery Road and Tannery Road has no footpath and it very difficult for pedestrians to walk on this stretch. Stagnant water adds to the problem.

I request the department concerned to take immediate action.

Increase number of buses

There is only one bus (no. 269) from Ramachandrapura (RC Pura) to Majestic though the area has improved a lot these days.

Every day people, especially schoolchildren, have to walk nearly a kilometre to catch the bus. Even then, there is no gurantee of reaching any place on time since the bus leaves RC Pura sometimes at 7.30 am and sometimes at 8 am.

There have been instances when people have waited for more than 30 minutes and the bus has not come at all.

We request the BMTC to ensure that the bus leaves RC Pura everyday between 7.30 am and 7.45 am, and also increase the number of buses.

Bus services needed

Residents of Housing Board Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4 of Basaveshwarnagar have no direct bus to reach offices located at Maharani’s College Circle, K R Circle, M S Building, Vidhana
Soudha, High Court and the Palike.

Much time is lost at Kempegowda bus terminal waiting for a connecting bus.

A bus, therefore, may please be introduced from Sharadha Colony bus stand to City Market for the benefit of the above residents.

It is further requested that frequency of route no. 68 to Shivajinagar be increased.

The re-routing of K-3 to run on the 1st main road and on Chord Road to Vijayanagar would help the residents of the area to reach other parts of the City easier.
