Trial not to be shifted to Tihar

According to the decision taken, the notification to shift the trial will not come into effect and the hearing will continue in the Patiala House court complex till an alternative arrangement is made.

The decision to shift the trial was taken on Tuesday after several lawyers in the past had complained about paucity of space in the present court and demanded a  spacious court room with better facilities.

Meanwhile, the administrative committee also directed that the group of high court judges, lawyers and the judge-in-charge of the Patiala House courts will inspect the alternate venues within the Patiala House Court Complex.

Later in the day, Registrar General of HC along with Judge O P Saini inspected other options and talked about the most feasible place. “If arrangements within the court doesn’t work out, the committee may also consider to shifting the trial to Vigyan Bhawan and Pragati Maidan,” said one of the lawyers, part of the n-chamber hearing on the issue.
