Illegal site allotment alleged

The Mandya Urban Development Authority (MUDA)has allotted 13 residential sites to its staffers, in violation of rules.

The allotments had been made much before 107 sites had been allotted to a number of people, including politicians, creating a controversy.

The Deputy Commissioner (DC) had reviewed the allotment of sites, following a complaint by Satyananda, an advocate. The DC wrote to the government on February 18, 2011, saying the MUDAofficials had flouted guidelines while allotting the sites.

Satyananda released substantive documents in this regard at a press conference on Saturday.

Cancel allotments

He demanded that the allotment of the 13 sites be cancelled, similar to the annulment of 107 sites.

He sought filing of criminal cases against the allottees for giving false information.

They had not submitted the necessary certificates. The allotment letters were given between December 2009 and January 2011.
