JOIN USSt Joseph’s College of Commerce (SJCC) edged past SRM University 8-6 via tie-breaker to win the first game in the hockey competition of Vagus Vie 2012, the all-India sports fest organised by Jain University, at the KSHA stadium on Sunday.
St Joseph’s and SRM were tied 4-4 after regulation. PU Kuttappa opened the scoring for St Joseph’s in the fourth minute. Shan Bopaiah then struck a brace in the 14th and 17th minutes to make it 3-0. Sivamani reduced the deficit for SRM with goals in the 21st and 22nd minutes.
It was 4-2 for the Josephites in the 24th minute before SRM achieved parity.
