Citrix software to access virtual desktops

Citrix Systems, Inc, has announced the general availability of Citrix Receiver - a new lightweight software client that makes accessing virtual desktops and applications on any device easy. Much like a satellite or cable TV receiver in a broadcast media service, Citrix Receiver allows IT organisations to deliver desktops and applications as an on-demand service to any device in any location with a rich “high-definition” experience. It radically simplifies desktop management for IT and gives end users  independence in how and where they work.


VMware’s OS for building internal cloud

VMware, Inc, the virtualization solutions provider, has recently announced VMware vSphere 4, the industry’s first operating system for building the internal cloud, enabling the delivery of efficient and reliable IT as a service.
VMware vSphere 4 will aggregate and holistically manage large pools of infrastructure – processors, storage and networking – as a seamless, flexible and dynamic operating environment.  Any application – an existing enterprise application or a next-generation application – runs more efficiently and with guaranteed service levels on VMware vSphere 4. For enterprises, VMware vSphere will bring the power of cloud computing to the datacenter, slashing IT costs while dramatically increasing IT responsiveness.

Sybase launches IQ 15 in India

Sybase, Inc, the enterprise software and services provider focused on information managing and mobilisation, has announced the launch of Sybase® IQ 15 in India.

MathWorks launches new versions of product family

The MathWorks has announced Release 2009a (R2009a) of its MATLAB, Simulink, And PolySpace product families. R2009a includes extended support for multicore and multiprocessor systems, two new products, new features in MATLAB and Simulink, and enhancements to more than 90 other MathWorks products.
The two new products in R2009a are Vehicle Network Toolbox, which enables a direct connection between MATLAB and CAN bus networks for analysis and testing, and Simulink Design Optimisation, which enables Simulink users to estimate and tune model parameters using numeric optimisation.
