Scouts and Guides feted in Mangalore

The District-level certificate handing over ceremony of Bharath Scouts and Guides, Karnataka, Dakshina Kannada District Organisation was held at Deputy Commissioner’s Residence on Sunday, reports DHNS from Mangalore.

As many as 165 Cubs from 22 schools accepted the certificates, 193 Bulbuls from 27 schools, 110 scouts from 43 schools, 175 guides from 52 schools, 52 rowers from eight schools, 112 rangers from nine schools took the certificates during the occasion.

Addressing the gathering Deputy Commissioner Dr N S Channappa Gowda said that discipline is the most important aspect in life of any individual and students should aim at imbibing discipline in their lives.

He asked the scouts and guides to remained humble and grounded even if they climb the success ladder.

“We should always remember where we come from and how much struggle our parents have done for us to reach to this position. We should always be helpful and considerate to those in less privileged position than us,” he said.

The Scouts and Guides also renewed their oath in the presence of the dignitaries. A student from NMPT School and a group of students from S M Kushe School staged dance performances during the event.

District Scouts Commissioner Ramashesha Shetty, District Secretary K Vasanth Rao, District Guides Commissioner Irene D’Cunha among others were present.
