Hegde fears mining report may be dumped

 Former Lokayukta Justice Santosh Hegde said  the report submitted by him to the government on illegal mining in the State may be thrown into the dustbin, as the government will neither accept nor reject it, unless people in the State fight for it.

Justice Hegde told reporters here on Thursday that his report was like first information report to the government and it was up to the government to take action on the findings and recommendations in the report.

 None of them was absolved in the report, including former chief ministers S M Krishna, Dharam Singh, H D Kumaraswamy and B S Yeddyurappa.  The report is with the government and action could have been taken by it, he said.
