Graduation ceremonies always fill one with nostalgia as they take one back to the beautiful days spent on the college campus. Kristu Jayanti College recently held its graduation ceremony, Samavarthana, which saw more than 758 students graduate in style.

The ceremony began on a formal note and soon gave way to an informal session.
After the chief guest’s speech, there was an oath-taking ceremony by the student coordinators. Prizes were then distributed to the university toppers and graduation certificates given away to the outgoing batch. The students were happy that they were stepping into a new phase of life but were also nervous as they were entering into an unknown territory. Kesha, a sixth-semester BBM student said, “Finally, I am going out into the real world and I realise the seriousness of it. The college has done well to prepare us for the same.”

Andrew, another student, compared the principal and the faculty to the branches of a tree. He compared the teachers to the leaves that are always green and the fruits on the trees as students.

Sharing her experience, after receiving an award, Joana Pearl, a final-year
student said, “It was unbelievable that I got an award.  Nevertheless, I am thrilled and this has motivated and encouraged me to do better.”

John, another student observed, “When you are in college, you always feel safe and secure. But it’s only when you step out of the campus, that reality hits you. The college has done well to prepare us for the tough competition that’s ahead of us,” he said.

The programme ended with the college song and students were seen taking pictures with their friends and faculty. Principal Fr T A Sebastian, financial administrator Fr Jose P J, head of the department, computer application Fr Augustine George were present on the occasion.
