Fertilisers were diverted to other district, says official

Appearing before the Commission, he said the route-plan of the fertilisers flow was worked out by the Centre. The State changed it without taking the Centre into confidence. He said he got this information through media reports and added that the issue was debated at length in Houses of the State Legislature. Ramaswamy was the principal secretary of Agriculture Department between June 2005 and June 4, 2008. Now he is chairman of Karnataka Appellate Tribunal. He said, the State removed him as principal secretary of Agriculture Department within a couple of days after the incident. He had also appealed to the Commission to make valid recommendations which could help the State government in countering discrimination in allocating fertilisers to the states.
