FOND MEMORIES

It’s time for the final year engineering students to say goodbye to college as they will be completing their course soon. With hardly a month left for their final exams, students are filled with mixed emotions. Unanimously they say that college life has given them a lot of good memories.

They will definitely miss those funny incidents on campus, the countless trips they went on, celebrating festivals, movie-watching sessions, birthday treats, sleep-overs, running around and taking print-outs of lab records, copying assignments just five minutes before submission, combined studies and burning the midnight oil during exams. Most of them are making the best use of their last few days in college and just want to spend time with their friends more than anything else.

Reshma, a final year engineering student, says it will be an emotional moment for her to leave college. “It’s a mixed feeling. I am happy that I will start earning soon but at the same time, I am sad as I will miss my college life. Unlike others, my friends and I have decided to attend classes compulsorily so that we can spend time together. Our bond of friendship has become stronger as we work on projects and seminars together. Recently, six of us had gone to Kodaikanal for three days. It was a memorable trip and we enjoyed it to the fullest. We did cycling, boating, trekking and many other things,” she says.

Some students are clicking as many photographs as possible to cherish these moments in the future. “We had an ethnic day recently during which, we took a lot of group pictures. We even made our lecturers pose for us. We have promised our juniors that we will be in touch with them and be always open to help them,” informs Reshma. She feels it is high time she clears all the misunderstandings between her and her friends.

Most students are aware that they won’t get a lot of free time in the corporate world which they are about to enter soon. “I am sure that life will be very hectic once we become professionals. This is the last chance we will get to hang out with friends and travel. Recently, seven of us had gone to Goa and had a nice time. We will be heading to Kerala soon,” says Aman Gupta, another final year student who wants to spend time with his friends. “Be it partying or watching cricket matches, I always have fun with my friends.

With the IPL going on at present, we gather at a friend’s house to watch the match and have a great time,” he adds.

Vinay G C, a final year student in electronics and communication, too spends a lot of time with his friends. He will soon be heading to Ooty along with friends and wants to enjoy life to the fullest. “Even in the City, we keep on exploring new places. We often go out for lunches and dinners and make sure that we go to a different place every time,” says Vinay, who is thrilled after watching an IPL match live at the stadium. “I had gone for the match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals along with my college friends. We had great fun there and cheered a lot for Rahul Dravid,” he
gushes. Ajith Sharma, another student, has no time for merry-making as he is tied up with academics. “We are burdened with tough syllabus, projects, seminars and internals.

We can’t neglect our studies also as this is our last chance to improve our academic record. I catch up with friends only during the evening at some eating joint. I am looking forward to the convocation ceremony as ours is the first batch to pass out after BMS attained the autonomous status. We will be having many photoshoots on that day,” he concludes.
