Out of the Rs 1.29 crore worth of articles stolen in a span of three months in district, articles worth Rs 54.18 lakh is recovered, said additional superintendent of police A N Rajanna.
‘Goods including silver and gold jewelleries, vehicles, mobiles, electronic gadgets were recovered. Articles worth Rs 18.36 lakh has already been distributed to respective owners,’ he said.
‘Among 18 murder cases registered, culprits of 12 are traced and among four thefts, four have been solved. Out of 15 extortions three and seven out of 62 night thefts have been solved,’ he added.
‘27 dowry harassment cases, 20 rape cases, 82 road accidents, 99 gambling, and four prostitution cases are registered.
The accused proved guilty in one murder, 11 thefts, seven attacks, one dowry harassment and 90 accident cases are convicted and punished,’ Rajanna said.
‘Accused of three murders, one extortion, five theft, seven dowry harassment, 73 attacks and 24 accidents have been released,’ he added.
DySPs Uttappa, Channabasavanna, Kala Krishnamurthy, inspector Sandesh Kumar and other were present.
