Last Updated 11 September 2009, 17:46 IST

The decision was arrived at as the Water Supply and Drainage Board is reeling under financial crunch.
CMC president M Bhaktavatsalam who chaired over the meeting observed that the Gold Fields area in the city has been facing acute water scarcity and directed the officers to accord top priority for resolving the problem.

Building allotment
The meeting decided to allot the unused building meant for the office of the Election Officer in the premises of District Central Library at Robertsonpet to Raitha Samparka Kendra. It was also decided to allot the vacant site in front of Mahila Samaja for construction of Patrika Bhavan, a long-pending demand of the scribes of Kolar Gold Fields.
Responding to the issue of unauthorised buildings in the city raised by councillors John Kennedy, G Ramesh and Devi, Commissioner R S Yarrappa said that legal action will be initiated after preparing a list of such buildings.

Councillors of Republican Party of India and Congress staged a walk out from the meeting.
City Municipal Council vice-president Sangeethakumari, Assistant Executive Engineer Sridhar and others were present.
