Even as the issue of MSEZ dumping mud on banks of river Phalguni to give shape to MSEZ corridor road is facing intense opposition from local residents, the Company seems to be heaving a sigh of relief over Mukka sewage pipeline issue, which too faced a controversy following protest from fishermen.

The work in this regard is going on smoothly in Mukka area.

It may be recalled that the fisher men had protested against laying of the sewage pipeline.

However, the MSEZ convinced the fisher folks recently. The work, which had stopped in the first phase due to the protests, has now resumed.

The pipeline faced opposition for the second time from the NMPT Traditional boat Fishermen.

However MSEZ managed to face the opposition and convince the fishermen again.

In Kulur, MSEZ seems to have little chance to mollify protestors. When MSEZ startcutting road to lay pipeline at Chelyaru, Padupadavu, Pedre villages the people protested against it. The contractors managed to convince the villagers and 75 per cent of the work is completed.

However, laying of pipeline in Mukka is pending as the fishermen had not given a green signal.

On Monday, the work on Mukka pipeline was carried on with police security.Heavy weights used to prevent the pipes from floating and being shifted to the spot at Mukka using heavy vehicles.
