Last Updated 08 May 2012, 13:30 IST

The National Investigation Agency, probing the May 2011 blast in the Delhi High Court parking lot, today sought a city's court permission to interrogate six of the eight alleged Indian Mujahideen modules held for their suspected roles in various terror cases across the country.

Still groping in the dark over the identity of culprits behind the May 25 blast in outside gate 7 of the high court, the NIA sought lower court's permission to interrogate alleged IM modules, hoping to get some lead in the case.

The NIA, in its plea to Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Manish Yaduvanshi, sought to examine Gayur Ahmad Jamali, Abdul Rehman, Mohd Adil, Bashir Hussain, Mohd Qateel Siddiqui and Mohd Tarique Anjum Ahsan, all arrested by Special Cell of Delhi Police.

The NIA sought to question them for ten days over a month.

Public Prosecutor Rajiv Mohan said he has no objection to the NIA's plea.

Meanwhile, the NIA's special public prosecutor sought more time to file a schedule in respect of proposed examination of the accused persons after which the matter was fixed for August 16.

Gayur Ahmad Jamali, 21 and Mohammad Adil, 40, were arrested from Darbhanga and Madhubani in Bihar, while Mohammad Qateel Siddiqi, 27, was arrested in Delhi.
Abdur Rahman, 19, of Darbhanga, was arrested in Chennai and Ahsan was arrested from Nalanda in Bihar.

They are said to be involved in terror strikes in Delhi, Bangalore and Pune.

The Delhi Police claims that they were involved in the Pune German Bakery blast on February 13, 2010, the blast at Bangalore's Chinnaswamy Stadium during an IPL match on April 17, 2010 and firing and explosion in a car outside Jama Masjid on September 19, 2010 ahead of the Commonwealth Games here.
