A smile is a frown, upside down

There were no days that I was cursed,
No times which were the worst.
But there were times of fear,
Of things lost that were dear!

As I’m not (yet) an adult,
I cannot bear the insult
Of the frowns I meet
Instead of smiles, which have become a rare treat!

I hate frowns to the core,
Like them no more.
I turn my face away from them,
And hope they cause no mayhem!
