Patil, Raju come good for Diamonds

Diamonds came up with a forceful bowling performance against the in-form Bulls, restricting them to a modest 130 and then chasing it down.

Left-arm spinner Prasanna Patil was impressive in particular, grabbing four wickets, including dangerous-looking Bulls skipper Sudhindra Shinde (30, 19b, 5x4), to check rival scoring.

Diamonds chase did not receive a rousing start and at 49 for three they were in a spot of bother.  But a 48-run alliance between Yere Goud and Sunil Raju propelled them to 97 before Jaya Prakash Shetty dismissed both the batsmen.

Skipper Sunil Joshi’s run out saw Diamonds plummeting from 97 for three to 101 for six.
The diminutive right-hander made Bulls pay for that mistake, playing a nice little cameo, (21 n.o, 10b, 1x4, 1x6), and realised 29 runs with CM Gautam for the eighth wicket to take their team home.
