The Kengal Hanumanthaiah Memorial Trust will organise the 104th birth anniversary celebrations of former chief minister late Kengal Hanumanthaiah on May 26 at 6.30 pm at the Vidhana Soudha.
Congress leader and Trust president D K Shivakumar said here on Thursday that Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is scheduled to inaugurate the function.
Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda, External Affairs Minister S M Krishna, Union Minister for Corporate Affairs Veerappa Moily, Union Minister of State for Railways K H Muniyappa and other leaders are also scheduled to participate, he said.
The Trust has decided to bring pressure on the State government to declare Kengal Hanumanthaiah’s birthday as Farmers’ Day. Besides, the Centre should bring out a stamp in his name, Shivakumar said.
