Fight over minor issue claims one life

Police nab culprits within few hours of incident

A minor altercation that began over a trivial matter ended up taking a gruesome face, with an innocent being hacked to death, at Kadrimidri area on Thursday night.

The deceased is Suresh (37) from Kesavinamane and Harish, Mahesh and Mani from Kadrimidri are the accused. The accused were nabbed by the police at the residence of their sister in Hassan on Friday morning. The police are on a look out for rest of the accused, including a woman. 

The situation has turned tense after the incident. Meanwhile, the relatives of the deceased barged into the residence of the accused and set ablaze belonging like cots, beds, furniture, television and food items. The police had to pool in fire service personnel to control the fire. 

The residence living near the spot where Suresh was killed remained indoors on Friday, painting a pensive and tense atmosphere. The residents even restrained from making any comments on the incidents when the reporters and media representatives visited them, fearing the accused, who have criminal credentials. 

Security has been beefed up in the region. KSRP personnel have been deputed on duty in the village. Superintendent of Police N Shashi Kumar is at the spot. 

Background

On Thursday evening, two men from Kesavinamane named Kumar and Suraj were assaulted by the accused Harish, Mahesh and Mani for trivial reason. 

Suresh, the victim had gone to meet the accused at their residence to question them about their act. Seeing Suresh the accused without any reason started attacking him with fatal weapons. Suresh was left to bleed in the drain on the road. He was later rushed to Mallegowda Hospital but he succumbed to injuries. Kumar and Suraj are undergoing treatment. 

The accused had faced the charges of attempt to murder, in the past and were out on bail. However the police tackled the case within few hours of the incident taking place. 

Situation tense

The residents of Kadrimidri and Kesavinamane residents staged a stir keeping the dead body of Suresh outside Deputy Commissioner’s office demanding arrest of the culprits and compensation for the family of the deceased.

After the post mortem, the protesters took the vehicle carrying the dead body directly to DC’s office and said that though the police have arrested three persons in connection to the murder, the prime accuse in the case is a lady who has not been arrested yet. They said that lady and some other accused in the case should be arrested at the earliest.The DC promised to do the needful.
