Fun-filled Ambience

It was a fresh start for the degree students of PES College, who were excited and anxious at the same time to start their college life.

 While on one hand, they were all set to make new friends, on the other, they were nostalgic about parting from their school friends.

Excitement was in the air and students were seen chatting, interacting, giggling and making new friends.

   “I do miss my school friends, but then you make friends for life during your college years. I am looking forward to a good academic year and will work hard,” says Megha B.
Most students were on time for the inauguration ceremony and were dressed neatly in salwaar kameez for the formal programme.

“I am happy with the course that I have chosen, there is certainly more freedom in college. We can choose the subjects of our choice and there are so many other activities happening in college. I prefer to stick to the academics and perform well. I have a lot of expectations from the college and my teachers,” says Preethi Jain.

Many students also expressed their desire to excel in extracurricular activities and be active members of the cultural teams in the college. “I want to hone my talents and skills and hope to take part in the college culturals. There are so many cultural activities happening in the colleges in the City and there is a great opportunity to portray one’s talent. I hope I get to do that,” says Harish, a first-year student.

Along with academics, the students were getting used to the new ambience, new system and new friends. While some were enjoying it, some said they would take their share of time to adjust.

“I am yet to get used to this new thing happening in my life. The whole set up is new and different and I feel a little out of place sometimes, but I am sure I will be able to manage,” says a shy Sushmita.

The students were given an overall roundup and basic information about the rules and regulations of the college uring the inauguration ceremony.

They were addressed by the heads of departments and others and were given some basic guidelines about how to conduct themselves in the college so as to increase their understanding about the college.
