More buses to Shivajinagar

The number of buses going to Shivajinagar via Ashram, North-Road, Lalbagh Main Gate, Minerva Circle and Town Hall Junction between 7 am and 9am and between 2 pm and 4 pm, is very less.

People have to wait for more than half an hour to catch a bus to Shivajinagar. Buses running between Hosakerehalli and Shivajinagar pass through these stops, and the travelling public have to rely only on them. Can the BMTC authorities look into this matter and ensure that the frequency of Shivajinagar buses is increased on this route.

A lot of elderly citizens wait at the bus stops for long hours, which is a very sorry sight. Expecting a positive reponse from the Bangalore Metro Transport Corporation in this regard.

Post office at Someswarapura

The residents of Someswarapura, Ulsoor, have to walk two kms to the post office even for small works like mailing a letter.
The post office, which was functioning in the layout when it was formed in the 60s, was closed down and the lone post box on 3rd main road was removed some years ago. The residents, especially the senior citizens are finding it difficult to walk the distance to get their work done at the post office.
Repeated appeals to the authorities to restore them drew a blank. It will be of great help if the postal department authorities revive the  mobile post office services in the interests of the citizens.

Repair pipeline on 100-ft road

The 100 feet double road linking Kanakapura Road and Anjanapura was dug for laying the drinking water pipes.

After the laying of the pipes was completed, the road was being asphalted by the Bangalore Development Authority, when one of the water pipes was broken.
The BDA engineer, along with the contractor, inspected the site and promised to get the water pipe repaired. But till date, no action has been taken by either the BDA or the BBMP.

This has resulted in a lack of water supply for close to two weeks now in these areas. The authorities are requested to do the needful. The residents are finding it extremely difficult to manage without water.

BTM Layout 2nd Stage gets water once in 4 days

The residents of 2nd Stage in BTM Layout are facing the problem of irregular water supply.

Water is being supplied once in four days. When the residents contacted the BWSSB Customer Care and complained to the officials concerned, there was no response from them.

Fed up with the water crisis, the residents opted for private tankers. But unfortunately, the private water tanker vendors charge Rs 1,000 per tanker, which is illegal and also unaffordable too.

From the outlook it appears that the BWSSB officials and the private tanker vendors are hand-in-glove. The negligent attitude of the BWSSB officials only strengthens the doubts.

They are least bothered about public problems. The BWSSB higher officials should  take note of this and initiate some immediate action.

Roads, dividers lack reflectors

In most parts of the City, the roads and the road dividers lack reflectors to alert the drivers during night.

The roads are poorly lit which adds to the plight of the drivers, especially if they are new to that part of the City. There was a fatal accident when a call centre van rammed a road divider on the 100-Feet Road in Indiranagar, which leads to the ESI Hospital.

Even the sides of the divider should have reflective strips where the road curves in, and they are recommended also on the flyovers. On the Domlur flyover the divider is invisible in the night, due to poor lighting and the glare of the vehicles’ headlights from the opposite direction makes matters worse.

This is a major safety issue and the authorities should set it right immediately.

Shift drainage chamber

I  am staying at # 55 GKW Layout, 2nd Cross, Vijayanagar. Three days ago, some workers started digging in front of my house and two days later they started fixing a chamber for the drainage.

The work is obstructing my way to take the car outside as it has blocked the gate.
Will the authorities concerned kindly shift the drainage chamber at the earliest?

CA site encroached

A civic amenity site number 2, has been encroached upon at BCMC Housing Society Layout in Raghuvanahalli (ward no. 198) on Kanakapura Main Road.

A police constable attached to Thalaghattapura police station has constructed houses and a multi-storeyed building on the site measuring 2043.50 sq mts. He has rented out the houses too. We have given several complaints to the commissioner, the joint commissioner and the chief engineer of Rajarajeshwarinagar Zone over the past three years.

Although, we have submitted the required documents and photos, the authorities have failed to act. We request the BBMP to take immediate action.

We get no water, only bills!

The residents of ISRO Quarters on G-5 Road (KV NAL Road), Jeevan Bima Nagar are facing drinking water shortage for more than five months. The residents have stopped getting BWSSB water.

Earlier, the Quarters was supplied with water on alternative days. But the residents are now finding it difficult due to lack of water supply. The families managed to get water from their friends residing in the adjacent KPWD Quarters. Now, even they are facing water problem. The problem has become unbearable for the families.

Interestingly, the residents are getting their water bills promptly every month. And the bill is often issued for utilising 1,000 litres of water, while not a single drop of water is supplied. I request the BWSSB authorities to look into the problem at the earliest.

Save Sarakki Lake from extinction

The Jaraganahalli Lake or Sarakki Lake is on the verge of extinction. For several years now, weeds have covered the lake and it has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.

Local people use it as a garbage dump. Many builders are dumping debris into this lake.
The residents request the authorities to take steps to save the water body.

There is a need to fence the lake area and punish those dumping garbage into it. Subsequently, the lake may be converted into a place of tourist interest, by introducing boating and other water sports.

Restore Volvo services

BMTC had introduced Volvo buses to improve its services in the city. However, of late, BMTC has let out many Volvo buses to IT companies.

This is causing huge problems to commuters across the city, especially in the early morning and evening hours. The authorities are requested to restore the Volvo bus services for the benefit of the public.

Disaster waiting to happen

The spot near the manhole (the chamber of the sewage pipeline opposite house number 42, 5th Cross from the Shirdi Sai Baba Road, Someswarapura, Ulsoor) is a disaster waiting to happen.  School children and those visiting the Sai Baba temple may be in trouble if the weak soil caves in suddenly as the asphalt has worn out. The residents  BWSSB to take immediate steps.
