Chief minister Sheila Dikshit on Thursday called on visiting Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and discussed issues concerning management of civic services in their respective nations.

Dikshit also expressed her gratitude to Singapore PM for rendering constructive cooperation in setting up a Greenfield Skill Development Institute at Jaunapur in south Delhi.

She also apprised the Singaporean leader of Delhi’s unique administrative set-up, increasing population and pressure on civic services.

The skill development institute in Jaunapur is being set up on the lines of a world-class institute in Singapore.

“The institute will not only go a long in providing skill development training to youth but will also train the instructors,” she said.

Singapore is also helping Delhi in setting up a modern water recycling plant with capacity of 40 million gallon per day. Dikshit added that her government will consider building more plants after assessing the results of the first plant.

Lee appreciated the green cover of Delhi and assured cooperation on behalf of his government in different fields.
