Viani, Shalon clinch titles

 
Viani (6.5) finished level on points with Gahan M G after seven rounds but the former prevailed in the tie-break to clinch the crown.

In the girls’ section Shalon defeated Swathi Bhat in the sixth and final round to tally five points. Pavithra Jagtap also had five points after beating Venessa D’souzaa but the tie-break system favoured Shalon. Viani, Gahan, Shalon and Pavithra will represent Karnataka in the Under-17 Nationals at Chakradharpur, Jharkhand from October 4 to 14.
