Rains damage over 20 houses

The residents of the family have been rendered homeless after the incident. Visiting the spot, Town Municipal Council Member C N Akmal assured to provide compensation to the victims. Devamma, one of the victims, said that in many of the regions in Shanthinagar, houses have collapsed and water has been gushing into the houses. People have no place to go.

Sewage water has been gushing into houses due to heavy rains.  Houses of over 20 people including Shamshad, Devamma, Fathimabi, Lilly, Nisar have been damaged. Akmal said that plastic sheets have been placed temporarily so as to control inflow of rainwater.
