Farmers still reluctant to install meters for IP sets

“Power theft can be prevented by installing meters and it facilitates the government to provide quality power to farmers,” the CM told representatives of farmers at Vidhana Soudha.

President of Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene K S Puttannaiah only said: “We will look into it.” The CM further said: “Take your time to decide. If necessary, select a village where this can be experimented.”

The Chief Minister said a team of officials of the Excise, the Horticulture and the CFTRI will be sent to Tamil Nadu to study the way neera is manufactured and sold there. Based on the study report, the government will take a decision on chalking out a neera policy in the State, he added.
