Restore arterial road
Residents of Kuvempunagar (BBMP ward-11) are facing problems commuting to other areas due to the half-done asphalting work on 4th cross road. This road is the only stretch connecting to other areas.
The construction material has been dumped on the roadside, compounding the people’s problems, especially when it rains. The BBMP should take necessary action in this regard.

Rude staff at BWSSB customer care
Some of the staffers at the BWSSB customer care are rude. Recently, I called the customer care to book a complaint regarding overflowing drains and I found that the staffer answering the call took down the complaint, while attending other calls simultaneously. This shows BWSSB’s attitude towards solving the problems of the customers. Hope the authorities take necessary action.

Rope in RWAs to sell BWSSB forms
BWSSB’s initiative to sell applications forms at designated spots in various wards is commendable. However, it must be noted that the new BBMP ward areas have a huge population and it will be impossible to issue application forms to all applicants at these spots. BWSSB should have more designated spots in each ward to issue the forms. It should utilise the services of the residents’ welfare associations (RWAs) to sell the forms.

Repair dysfunctional streetlights
Many of the streetlights in B G S Layout of Surabhinagar (west), J P Nagar 8th phase, do not have timer switches. The streetlights here have two open ended wires or a single switch on each pole. It is the local residents who switch on the lights. During rain, there is the danger of short circuiting and a disaster. Bescom is requested to fix timer switches to the more than 50 lights in the area.

Introduce Volvos through Shantinagar
Volvo buses plying between Majestic bus stand and Electronics City are usually crowded.
This poses great difficulty for people travelling in these buses from Shantinagar, Wilson Garden, Lakkasandra, Nimhans. It is hard to find space even to travel standing.
The authorities are requested to start Volvo services from Shantinagar bus stand to Electronics City to avoid overcrowding.

Run shuttle bus services
Residents of Jaimaruthinagar, which is on a higher altitude than the nearby Nandini Layout, literally face an uphill task walking from the BMTC bus stand in Nandini Layout to their homes. The residents, especially the senior citizens, children and women, are put to inconvenience. It is suggested that BMTC introduce bus services from the bus stand to Jaimaruthinagar, JC Nagar and BHEL Layout with a fare of Rs 2. The route could be Nandini Layout bus stand-Jaimaruthinagar Circle-Shivaganapathi temple-Ring Road bus stop-Spandana Hospital-Parvathanjaneya temple-Jaimaruthinagar-Jaimaruthinagar Circle-Nandini Layout bus stand.
