The Bangalore University Syndicate members have threatened to report the fact that two electronics exams had been held for BE students, to government investigative agencies if the Vice-Chancellor N Prabhu Dev failed to explain the reason.

The University Visvesvaraya College of Engineering had recently conducted the Electronics exams twice for the final semester students. Students were given option to write the exam either in June or July. This was done to help students who had applied for postgraduate courses in other universities, said UVCE Principal Venugopal. Those who had not applied anywhere else and wanted more time to prepare were given the option of taking the exam in July, he added.

However, the members alleged that the exam in June was conducted only to favour a few students. Less than 15 students wrote the exam among hundreds studying the course.

In the last syndicate meeting, held two weeks ago, the members had questioned the vice-chancellor as to why the exam was held twice. Registrar Mylarappa alleged that the exam was conducted in a hush and even he was not aware of the incident.

Following this, the V-C had assured to conduct a special syndicate meeting before September 12.

However, with no response from the V-C, the members on Tuesday declared that they would approach higher authorities if Prabhu Dev failed to respond.
