Twelve students injured in accident

 More than 12 students sustained injuries as a multi-utility vehicle (MUV) rammed a tree near Haleperesandra in Chikkaballapur taluk, Tuesday evening.

The severely injured—students of government higher primary and high school in Haleperesandra—have been admitted to the government hospital.

The accident occurred as the driver lost control over the vehicle. The MUV was proceeding from Haleperesandra to Someshwara.

Hospitalised

The local residents shifted the injured students to the hospital.

Villagers alleged that there were no transport facilities from Haleperesandra to villages in the vicinity and students were compelled to travel by MUVs.

They urged the authorities concerned to operate buses on the route.
