A 23-year-old woman was allegedly raped by the son of a woman, who had lured her by promising a better job in the city.

Police said she was raped on three days at an isolated park.

Police have arrested the accused, though his mother is absconding.

The victim, a resident of Shakurpur at Netaji Subhash Place in north-west Delhi, on Sunday approached police along with her parents and alleged that she was raped by Puneet, who lives in her neighbourhood.

She said she worked as an attendant at a beauty parlour in Rani Bagh. On September 14, while she was returning home, a woman named Kamlesh, who also lives in the neighbourhood, approached her and offered her a better job.

Kamlesh asked her to come to her house on September 15.

Kamlesh then introduced the victim to her son Puneet, and asked her to go with him for the job. She and Puneet went to Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, where they used to work during the day and sleep outside at night.

On September 19, Puneet took her to an isolated park and raped her.

He then threatened to kill her two younger brothers. While the terrified victim kept quiet, Puneet raped her at night for the next two days, police said, quoting the victim.
On September 21, Puneet dropped her in Rani Bagh, threatening her not to tell anyone about the incident.

The victim reached home and narrated the incident to her mother. Her parents then approached Subhash Place police station.

After a medical examination, police registered a case under Sections 365 (kidnapping), 342 (wrongfulconfinement), 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code.

“We have arrested Puneet and we are looking for his absconding mother,” said a police officer.
