'Gandhi Shilp Bazaar' from today

Gandhi Shilp Bazaar has been organised from October 12 to 21 at JSS Mysore Urban Haat from 10 am to 9 pm.

At a press meet here on Thursday, chief executive of project, Urban Haat, Umakanth said the expo  is organised by JSS Mahavidhyapeetha in association with Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, New Delhi.

Elaborating on the objective of the event, he said, the expo is arranged to facilitate a direct market linkage between artisans and public. More than 150 master craftspersons from all over the country would be participating with their exquisite craft creations to showcase their traditional heritage of arts and crafts to the art connoisseurs of Mysore.
Self help group from acrosss the country have also been invited to promote the concept.

He said, national and state awardees craftsmen will present live demonstrations in art and craft making. On display will be kotadari sarees, ikat saree, tassar silk sarees, kantha stitch sarees, Benaras sarees, vegetable print dress materials, boutique items, Bengali cotton sarees, Haryana phulkari suits, Kashmir handlooms, wood carvings and furnitures from Saharanpur and Delhi, dry flowers, paintings, embroidery and footwear of
Rajasthan, leather items, jute products and other handicrafts and handloom items.  

Chief Executive Officer of zilla panchayat M N Ajay Nagabhushan would inaugurate the bazaar at 4 pm on October 12. President of Mysore Hoteliers Association M Rajendra would be the guest, director (technical) of JSS Mahavidyapeetha M H Dhananjaya and deputy director of development commissioner (Handicrafts) P Mallikarjunaiah would be present, he added.

Chief executive officer N Shekar, Abhinandan and others were present.

Rudset bazar

Aasare-Rudest has organised a Rudest Bazar at the Dasara exhibition from October 16, 2012 to January 13, 2013 for entrepreneurs who have established industries after availing training at Rudest in Mysore, Mandya and Chamarajanagar districts.
