Bharatiya Janata Party members Vanishri Vishwanath and Jennubai have been elected for a second term as president and vice president of the Bangalore Urban district zilla panchayat, respectively.
In the elections held on Friday at the Zilla Panchayat auditorium, Vanishri of Singanayakanahalli constituency and Jennubai of Machohalli constituency secured 22 votes each. As many as eight votes were polled against Vanishri and six against Jennubai.
While the president post is reserved for general (woman) category, the deputy post is reserved for backward classes (woman).
