Iranian national arrested

The Central Crime Branch sleuths arrested an Iranian national and recovered banned substances, including 65 gram magic mushroom, 1.10 kg opium, 90 gram charas, 70 gram cocaine, 3 kg ganja. Three cellphones and cash were also confiscated.

The suspect was identified as Saeidi Mozhdeh Ehsanm, 31, a native of West Tehran and a resident of Bhoopasandra in the City.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested him in Sanjaynagar and seized his passport. He came to India in 2005 for higher education and studied in two colleges in the City.

His visa had expired in June, but he decided to stay on without renewing his visa. He bought banned substances from Goa and other coastal regions and sold them in Bangalore, police said.
