Four bodies recovered from Mumbai farmhouse

The police on Wednesday afternoon recovered four mangled bodies from a farmhouse at Shiravali village in Panvel taluka of Raigad district.

Police officials said primary examination of the crime scene indicated that at least one of the bodies had a bullet wound. A revolver was found from the site. The other three bodies had their heads smashed with a stone which was also found in the vicinity, police said.

The victims have been identified as Nitin Joshi, Balram Chaupanne and Ramdas Patil. The fourth body was yet to be identified. The bungalow reportedly belongs to agricultural activist Datta Patil, whose nephew Ramdas is one of the victims. They were reportedly missing since Tuesday. Police said till late evening, experts were working to trace finger prints. Besides, sniffer dogs have been also been deployed.
