'Shadow a CEO'

The focus of this initiative is to involve India Inc in a social cause, and to create an opportunity for the ISB students to network with the current business leaders of India. In keeping with the spirit of the ‘Joy of Giving’ week, ISB will mobilise funds for charity.

Through this initiative,  management students at ISB would be able to spend a day with a CEO of their choice from among the 26 participating corporate personalities in the country, through an online auction.

*  Average no. of bids per CEO: 46
* The aggregate of the top bids for all 26 CEOs amounts to Rs. 680,025. (without matching by CEOs)
* Total no. of bids made : 1196
*  Highest bidder for both the women CEOs are female students
* Popular sectors: IT, Real Estate, Finance, Consulting, apart from conglomerates

As a part of the programme, the bidding process was conducted between September 21 and 23, 2009. Among the 26 business leaders who participated in the ‘Shadow a CEO’, the highest bid amount was for N R Narayana Murthy. Moving forward, a systematic evaluation process would enable the ISB faculty and administrative members to arrive at a consensus on the most deserving student to ‘Shadow the CEO’.

The amount raised through this initiative would be given to an NGO of the CEO’s choice, as a part of the ‘Joy of Giving’ Week (27 Sep – 3 Oct ,09). A few of the CEOs in the bidding process were

* KV Kamath ,ICICI Bank
* Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Biocon India
* Kumar Mangalam Birla, Aditya Birla Group
* N R Narayana Murthy, Infosys Technologies
